(1 in a multiple picture album) On a very cold October morning in 2019, I parked in the dark at Convict Lake and awaited the sunrise. Laurel Mountain behind the lake is perfectly positioned to catch the Golden Hours rays. It was wonderful to watch the line of light move slowly down to the lake. Convict Lake, though not part of the Mammoth Lakes region is just south of the town. The origin of the name is worth Googling.
